The Zonta
Club of Lafayette invites you to use your creative inspiration
to design and donate an Art Bra and, be a part of the First
Annual
Zonta Club of Lafayette Art Bra Event, “Save ze Ta Ta’z”.
We hope that you will find this
uplifting event
both a fun and affordable way to support breast cancer
survivors.
Help us to
celebrate an important milestone for the women (and men) who
have triumphed over this disease. Just as women are never too
young to be aware of the risks of breast cancer, people are
never too young to start supporting breast cancer education,
treatment, prevention and advocacy.
The art bras will be on display during
the Breast Health Symposium this October 14 at the Lafayette
Convention Center. Cast a $1.00 vote for your favorite(s). The
top ten with the most votes will be modeled and auctioned during
the October 26, 2009 event at River Oaks. Additional
entries will be part of the Silent Auction.
This event
is expected to be a runway hit, with many amazing art bras
created by local artists, including survivors, celebrities,
friends and family of survivors. These bras will be displayed
at the event on October 26. A select group of bras will
be part of a silent and live auction.
All funds
raised will benefit local women with 50% dedicated to the
Institute for Breast Health, Inc. a nonprofit 501 c 3
organization whose mission
is to provide state of the art education concerning breast
health as well as celebration of breast cancer survivorship for
the community known as the Acadiana Region.
The
Symposium is presented to the public free of charge, courtesy of
the generous support of the Lafayette medical community. The
Zonta Club of Lafayette for its local service projects will
retain the remaining 50% of the proceeds.
Join us on
Monday October 26, 2009 at 6:00 pm at River Oaks (?) for
an evening in the company of breast cancer survivors, some who
will model the amazing art bras created by local artists,
friends, family, celebrities and even themselves. Mix, mingle,
enjoy music and drinks, and bid on art bras, both silent and
live auction items.
Tickets will be available at the Breast Health Symposium on
October 14th at the Lafayette Convention Center and
at the door at $20 per person. |
